The advantages of matte photo paper are the absence of glare, low price and fairly quick drying. It is great for black and white photographs. However, due to the thin coating, the ink on such paper spreads a little, so the sharpness of the prints is reduced, and the absence of a finishing protective layer almost does not protect against fading.
Matte photo paper is suitable for pigment and water soluble inks.
